the "Love Our Libraries" Initiative, that is! A Special Celebration...in honor of...THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT. Groton Public Library...52 Newtown Road...Friday, Oct. 2, 2009...4:00-6:00pm. The libraries of the towns of East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, Mystic, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington, and Waterford...invite you...in thanking the Foundation for the LOVE OUR LIBRARIES INITIATIVE, their generous 25th anniversary gift..."the library is the heart of the community." NOTE: The Groton Library is the birthplace of my blog and my continued, ongoing preferred "place of self employment." The many computers are free to the public, along with internet use. Printing costs 10 cents per page. After my first year of dining at Pequot Cafe, 2007-08, I sought refuge at the Groton Library. On May 23, 2008, my blog was born, here at the Groton Library. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. Many fine books, music CDs, movie DVDs and paintings are available for check-out. Currently, a copy of the French Impressionist painting, "The Seine at Asnieres" by Pierre Auguste Renoir, 1887, is on display in my living room. For the past few Spring and Summer months, I had the priviledge of hosting "Fields in Spring" by Claude Monet, 1887, in my home. "Fields in Spring" may be an actual location in the Carmargue, the silvery fields in the South of France, where the book "Light of the Moon" by Luanne Rice takes place, and which I am currently reading. As you recall, my earlier post of January 8, 2009, the Groton Library is one of the thirteen libraries to receive a generous donation, $100,000 plus $200,000 in "seed money," to be exact, from the Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut. The gift originates from a generous donation to the Community Foundation from the Estate of Edmund O'Brien, Founder of Eastern Connecticut Cable TV, 3.6 million, to be exact. I am proud to have known the acquaintance of "Uncle Bud" from 1999-2004.

COMING SOON..."A Real Gem," a historic account of the healing power of gemstones...A re-rendering of "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe (just in time for back-to-school, Halloween, and as an English major...once a teacher, always a teacher!)...and an Addendum to "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" Ironically, HER song is about Girl's Night Out! MY song is about staying IN. What with "the new chastity" and all, I thought much of the public can relate to this. If not...well, then...I guess you really are...just an old poopyhead!!!...* * * :). Denise...Denise Dances...2009.
