I was pleased to be interviewed by Reporter Kevin Hogan in front of the Amtrak Train Station around high noon today. Hoping not to cause controversy, I offered my two cents on the new crosswalk. Hey! if asked, I WILL give my opinion! STAY TUNED...have a feeling, I won't be able to avoid the Spotlight this year! (Denise...Denise Dances...2010.)

She's not like any other girl you've ever seen before! (Ooooooh, she's got to slooooow dooooown! (she doesn't compare to anyone else in the Neighborhood -- !) I'm trying to find the words to describe this girrrrl --Without being disrespect-ful! (-- Sexy Chick) Barely half an hour and The Hygienic had just flung open its doors -- playing host to the Hygienic XXXI to a throng of artistes on the downtown New London scene of an ice-cold January morning -- our only reward thus far being a free cup of coffee and scones at Fiddleheads Cooperative Market on Broad. Check it out on Saturdays! Although I for one often feel lost in a crowd, I got caught up in the excitement of the 31st annual "Salon des Independants," as we descended on the Hygienic Saturday morning. The volunteers assited artistes old and new with equal enthusiasm, providing forms and wire for hanging our creations on any available wallspace in the downtown enclaves of the former diner on Bank Street. Desiring promo for my work of art, "Spring Freshet," an oil on canvas, I rested up and returned later that evening where the crowd had already gathered. My efforts were eventually rewarded when I cautiously approached a reporter from "The Day" and I am very happy to offer the results here. For more info, go to: http://www.theday.com/article/20100131/NW01/301319813/1044 I was flattered to share the same paragraph as the remittent Late Late Bloomer with child prodigy, Doc Hammer of Ledyard, CT who became an overnight success by age 16, and now has gallery representation in New York, as well as his own rock band and a role as screenwriter for a TV series pilot. (Aside: Denise, the French translation is dervied from Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, and indeed, I choose to think that like a good bottle of wine, I get better with age!!!...* * * :) HYGIENIC XXXI runs through Sat. Feb. 13, 2010. The Hygienic is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 11am or Noon until 3pm or later.
