COMING SOON

COMING SOON Mix Pod: I plan to set my blog to music very soon! MORE LYRICS: "Don't Worry About Me". LEGACY. "MOVIE MADNESS XIV: A Long Lost Review of the USCG Concert in January 2010/ Summer Schedule." DEPRESSION HURTS. More on Diabetes. And...my new web page, even if just a one-time thing (hey, I have to have a social life, too!): DeniseHickey.UNHInspires.info.

Thanx, Readers!

THANX, READERS! OK, so there were 136 anonymous hits to my Blog yesterday, according to my Adsense Ads report. It's not generating any cash for me, but at least I get to see how popular my blog is. The 136 hits is a little suspicious to me. Could some of the hits be due to working on my artistic website, http://sites.google.com/site/makingartaffordabletothepublic/ and posting photos yesterday? But 136? Come on. I must be doing something right! For once! Thanx for your support! The Next Great Artist??? (on Bravo TV, Wednesdays at 10pm)

The First Cut is the Deepest

THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST I would have given you all of my heart. But there's someone who's torn it apart. And he's taken just all that I have. But if you want, I'll TRY TO LOVE AGAIN. Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know...THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST. Baby I know. The first cut is the deepest. But when it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed. When it comes to lovin' me, he's the worst. I still want you by my side. Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried. And I'm sure gonna give you a try. If you want, I'll TRY TO LOVE AGAIN (try) Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know... OHHHH, THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST. Baby, I know. The first cut is the deepest. But when it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed. When it comes to lovin' me, he's the worst. I still want you by my side. Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried. But I'm sure gonna give you a try. Cuz if you want, I'll TRY TO LOVE AGAIN. (Try to love again, try to love again.) Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know, OOHHH... THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST. Baby, I know. The first cut is the deepest. When it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed. When it comes to lovin' me, he's the worst. OOHHH, THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST. Baby, I know. Buster's New Friend

BUSTER'S NEW FRIEND Burrows Farm, Groton,CT. It has been quite some time since I have returned to my "home" here in Groton. Burrows Farm has changed a bit. Buster the duck has a new friend. A big white fluffy new Pyrenees dog has come to the farm to be his new friend. If you recall, his old friend, "the asthmatic dog" passed away over the winter. I saw Buster and his new friend for the first time today. Lush tomato plants are in the newly tilled gardens. The grounds are covered with white thistles and there is one other new addition, a brown horse! (COMING SOON: DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME.)

Mixed Medly

http://www.lyrics.com/lyrics/themusicman/tilltherewasyou.htm
There were bells on the hill but I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
Till there was you...
She was too good to me...
Whose gonna light my way now?
If I was mean to her
She never said go way now.
There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
Till there was you...
I was a king to her
Whose gonna light my way now?
Then there was music and wonderful roses... They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows... of dawn and dew... She would have brought me the sun... Making me smile -- that was her fun!... There was love all around... But I never heard it singing... No, I never heard it at all... Till there was you....She was too good to me... If I was mean to her... She never said go way now... She would have brought me the sun -- She was too good to be true! ...Then there was music and wonderful roses... They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew... -- THERE WAS LOVE ALL AROUND -- BUT I NEVER HEARD IT SINGING --NO, I NEVER HEARD IT AT ALL -- TILL THERE WAS YOU...Till there was you.

In-Spire!: Star of the Sea

IN-SPIRE! Star of the Sea
I screamed, and - lo! - Infinity
Came down and settled over me;
Forced my scream back into my chest;/ Bent my arm upon my breast;
And, pressing of the Undefined/ The definition on my mind,
Held up before my eyes a glass/ Through which my shrinking sight did pass
Until it seemed I must behold/ Immensity made manifold;
Whispered to me a word whose sound/
Deafened the air for worlds around,/ And brought unmuffled to my ears
The gossipping of friendly spheres,/ The creaking of the tented sky,
The ticking of Eternity.
(From Edna St. Vincent Millay: Selected Poems,
RENASCENCE, 1917)
There you will see in early July,
"Star of the Sea" in Watercolor Pencil,
a sketch of the view outside my bedroom window
and other Backyard Scenes 2009-10.
Remember to appreciate the extraordinary in the everyday.

Sisters

Sabrina sent her to the mailbox with letters to mail as often as possible, and asked her to pick things up at the dry cleaner's down the street, because she was home before it closed, and the others weren't. "What do I look like? An errand boy? What did your last slave die of?" Annie growled at her. It was a running battle between them, with Sabrina constantly asking her to do errands, pick things up at the hardware store, get a new dryer for her when hers broke. Her mission was to get Annie independent, and this was the best way to do it, even though it felt cruel to her sometimes too. She even b****** at her for spilling dog food in the pantry and leaving a mess, and told her to clean it up before they got rats or mice in the house. Annie had been in tears over it, and didn't speak to Sabrina for two days, but she was becoming more and more independent and capable of taking care of herself. Tammy had to admit the program was working, but it was definitely tough love. And more often than not, Candy sided with Annie, not understanding the motivation behind it, and called Sabrina a b****. It was good cop, bad cop, with Tammy as the mediator a lot of the time. But Annie was becoming an independent woman again, sighted or not. Her biggest problem was that she had no social life. She had few friends in New York, and was shy about going out. She had always been the least social of her sisters and the most introverted, spending hours alone, sketching, drawing, and painting. Losing her sight had isolated her more. The only time she went anywhere was with her sisters, and they made every effort to get her out. But it was hard. Candy led a crazy life with photographers, models, editors, and people in the fashion world, most of whom Sabrina and Tammy thought were unsuitable for her, but they were who worked in her business and it was inevitable that she hung out with them. Sabrina worked long hours and wanted to spend time with Chris and both of them were too tired to go out much during the week. And Tammy was living crazy hours in her new job, which had as many crises as her old job in Los Angeles. So most of the time, Annie had no one to go out with, and stayed home. It was a big deal for her to go out to dinner once a week with them, which they all agreed wasn't enough for her, but they didn't know how to solve the problem. And Annie insisted she liked staying home. She was starting to read in braille and spent hours with her headphones on, listening to music and dreaming. It wasn't a full life for a twenty-six-year-old woman. She needed people and parties, and places to go, girlfriends and a man in her life, but it wasn't happening, and her sisters feared it never would. She didn't say it to them, but so did she. Sabrina and Tammy were worried...and wanted to do something about it, but neither of them had time. Wanna hear more? SISTERS by DANIELLE STEEL, Copyright 2007 by Bantam Dell, a div. of Random House.
